Privacy Policy
JJinGongbu (deskon) (the "Service") is operated by AI1st ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
| Category | Data | How collected |
|---|---|---|
| Account (optional) | Google or Apple sign-in identifier, display name | Only if you choose to sign in. All features work without an account. |
| Study records | Study duration and summary figures (no video) | Generated automatically as you use the app; stored on our servers so your records follow you across devices. |
| Service operation | IP address, device model, OS and app version, access time | Logged automatically when you connect. |
| Age check | Year of birth | Once at sign-up. Stored only on your device. |
| Diagnostics (optional) | Numeric quality indicators (head angle, alert counts — not video) | Only if you separately opt in. |
| Usage events (optional) | Anonymous events about which screens and features were used; an install identifier that disappears when you uninstall the app | Included in the diagnostics opt-in above. |
Diagnostics and usage events are off by default (opt-in) and can be turned off at any time in the app settings. Declining does not limit any feature.
2. What We Do Not Collect — Camera Video and Biometric Data
We do not transmit or store camera video, images of your face, or biometric data. All analysis for drowsiness and posture detection runs entirely on your device in real time. Video frames exist only briefly in memory and are discarded immediately after analysis. Our servers receive only numbers, such as how long a study session lasted.
Specifically, the Service:
- does not perform facial recognition and does not identify you from your face;
- does not create, store, or transmit a face template, faceprint, or comparable identifier;
- does not compare you against any database, and does not re-identify you across sessions;
- does not write facial landmark or pose coordinates to storage, and does not send them over the network.
The camera is used only to determine physical states — whether you are present, whether your head has dropped, whether your posture has changed. It is never used to determine who you are.
3. Biometric Data Policy — Retention and Destruction
We believe the Service does not collect "biometric identifiers" or "biometric information" as those terms are used in biometric privacy laws, because we do not capture or retain any data capable of identifying an individual. We publish this section so that our practice is a matter of public record.
- Retention schedule: Camera frames and any derived facial landmark or pose values are held only in volatile memory for the duration of a single analysis step and are destroyed immediately thereafter. They are never written to persistent storage and never transmitted. Our retention period for such data is therefore zero.
- Destruction guidelines: Because no such data is ever stored, no separate destruction procedure is required. Should we ever collect data that constitutes a biometric identifier, we will destroy it when the initial purpose has been satisfied or within three (3) years of your last interaction with us, whichever occurs first, and we will update this Policy and obtain your consent before beginning any such collection.
- Consent: Before the camera is used for the first time, we present a separate notice describing this processing and ask for your written consent. You may decline and continue to use the Service.
- No sale or disclosure: We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric data, and we do not disclose it to any third party.
4. How We Use Information
- To measure study time and provide statistics and daily reports
- To detect drowsiness, posture changes, and absence from your seat, and to provide coaching, badges, and streaks
- To identify your account and sync records across devices (if you sign in)
- To process subscription payments, renewals, and cancellations (if and when introduced)
- To operate and secure the Service, prevent abuse, and respond to inquiries
- To improve detection quality (only with your opt-in consent)
5. Retention and Deletion
- Study records stored on your device are deleted when you uninstall the app.
- Account information is deleted without delay when you delete your account.
- Diagnostic data collected with your consent is deleted once its improvement purpose has been fulfilled.
- We retain records longer only where a law applicable to us requires it, and only for the period that law requires.
6. Third Parties
